Grade 7 Band Field Trip

This Friday (May 8th) our Grade 7 Band is heading out for a field trip to the annual PEI Beginning Band Day Showcase at Athena Consolidated School in Summerside! As always, we expect our band students to be excellent representatives of East Wiltshire School. The event is open to the public so if you are going to be in the area, feel free to drop in.

Tentative Schedule

  • 🕘 Depart EWS at 9:00 a.m.
  • 🕑 Return before 2:00 p.m.

🙋 Volunteers Needed
We may need help transporting larger instruments

🎼 What Students Need to Know

Be Prepared

  • Bring your instrument, music, and supplies (reeds, valve oil, etc.)
  • Bring a nut-free packed lunch and water bottle

👔 Dress Code

  • Wear full band uniform to morning rehearsal:
    • Black EWS band t-shirt
    • Black pants
    • Dark shoes
  • ❌ No blue or ripped jeans
  • ✔ Black jeans, black athletic pants, or yoga pants are fine

🚌 Travel

  • Load school bus at approx. 9:00 a.m.
  • Appropriate bus behaviour is expected

At the Event

  • Listen respectfully to other bands
  • 📵 No cell phone use
  • School rules apply
  • We will have pizza in the cafeteria when we get back to school at 2:00 p.m.!

Personal Items

  • Keep track of your belongings
  • Chaperones are not responsible for lost or stolen items

📚 Schoolwork

  • Students must catch up on missed work

Welcome to May!! I’m not going to let the fact that it was snowing here a few minutes ago deter me from believing that spring has arrived.

Our Spring Concert will be held on Wednesday, June 10th this year. Please add this important date to your calendar. The students have made a tremendous amount of progress since December, and they are looking forward to sharing their new repertoire with you!
