Band Assignments: Reminder for Students in Grades 7, 8 and 9

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to provide an update for students and parents on assignments which will be counted toward band marks for the first reporting period. Practicing should be taking place on a regular basis in order to make performance assignments less stressful for everyone!

Details for all band assignments are posted regularly in Google Classroom. Grade 8 and 9 students have also received e-mail reminders about playing assignments through Google Classroom.

Please complete assignments on time, or see Mr. FitzGerald at lunch if you need extra help.

*If you need extra time with a chrome book at school, there is a chrome book for student use in the band area. You can also go to the library, or see a teacher about borrowing a chrome book to use in the band area during the lunch break or before or after school with permission from the band teacher.

GRADE 7 ASSIGNMENTS:

5 note scale pattern. Please see Mr. FitzGerald for details.

Practice note naming by completing Chapter One in Breezin Thru Theory (username and password and assignment details are in Google Classroom). A quiz will be assigned before the end of the reporting period.

Band Fees

Band fees ($25) are now being collected, and are due by Tuesday, November 30th. Band fees cover the cost of supplies required by all students such as reeds, drum sticks, valve oil, slide cream, cleaning cloths and tuning slide grease, as well as treats (ice cream after concerts, etc.) which are provided throughout the year.

Band fees can be paid by e-transfer (preferrred), cheque or cash. Please provide the student’s name, class, and reason for payment.

E-transfers can be sent to eastwiltshire@edu.pe.ca

If students are bringing cash or cheques to school, they can be turned in to the band teacher or in the main office. Please enclose payments in an envelope labeled with the students name and class or place the payment in a ziplock bag with a note stating the same information. Cash and cheque payments can also be made in the office during parent teacher interview times.
