Early morning band practices are still paused until further notice. I will let everyone know when we are able to gather in large band groups again.
Band classes within the regular school day continue as usual. Each band class has been assigned new playing tests as well as several music theory and general music assignments over the past few weeks. Students are encouraged to check Google Classroom this week and work on completing outstanding band assignments. Regular practice at home is, as always, the key to making band a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.
Take care, and please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

I know that parents, students, and staff have been hit with a lot of information in a very short period of time so I will try not to add to the load!
At our staff meeting today, Mrs. Cole asked that we pause early morning band rehearsals for a few days. I fully expect that we will be able to return to a regular early morning practice schedule very soon.
Band classes within the regular school day will be held as usual. If possible, please encourage your children to practice their band music at home so that we can jump back into playing together in full band rehearsals as soon as we are given the ok!
Thank you for your support during home learning, and thank you to all of the band students for doing their best during these challenging times.

A link to this year’s virtual Chritmas card has been sent to parents and students through PowerSchool.
Links to the Christmas card have also been posted in Google Classroom.
Happy Holidays!

The students did a great job on Monday and Tuesday performing the new Christmas music that they have been working on for the past three weeks!
I will send out a link to the performance videos by the end of this week.
I would strongly recommend that all students take their instruments and music home during the holidays, along with all of their other learning materials.
Thank you for your support this fall and I wish you all a happy and peaceful holiday season.

Tuesday, December 14th: Grade 8 and 9 Band Rehearsal and Recording (7:45) in the gym.
Everyone will be asked to help move equipment to the gym at 7:45 a.m. Grade 8’s will record their pieces first while the grade 9’s watch. Once the grade 8’s are dismissed, the grade 9’s will record their selections.
Students are encouraged to dress in red and green to show their holiday spirit.
Please get in touch if there are any conflicts and I will do my best to work them out.

We will be recording a Christmas song for each grade level in the gym early next week. Please note the following schedule:
Monday, December 13th: Grade 7 Band Rehearsal and Recording (7:45)
Tuesday, December 14th: Grade 8 and 9 Band Rehearsal and Recording (7:45)
Students are encouraged to dress in red and green to show their holiday spirit.  Please get in touch if there are any conflicts and I will do my best to work them out.
In the event of a school delay, early morning band rehearsals are canceled for the day.
School cancellations and early closures result in the automatic cancellation of after school extra-curricular activities (including band rehearsals and concerts).
If school is canceled, students are asked to please check the band blog and listen to morning announcements upon returning to school for rescheduled rehearsal dates and times.
*The final decision as to whether to travel on winter mornings always rests with parents/guardians. If you deem roads to be unsafe, please just let me know by sending me a note or an email. If you choose to travel and roads are slippery, please take your time and arrive safely; I’ll happily let a student join the band practice late.
In the event that an early morning rehearsal has to be canceled at the last minute due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, the cancellation will be posted in Google Classroom and on the band blog by 7:00 a.m. An e-mail to parents will also be sent through SAS. Students who receive notification that early morning band has been canceled are asked to please share that information with their classmates through social media, texting, etc.
