I will be in Summerside for a curriculum meeting tomorrow, so just a reminder that early morning band for grade 8 is canceled. There will be an early morning grade 9 band rehearsal on Thursday as usual.
A short Jazz Band rehearsal will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday to distribute and play through our new Christmas tune. Having the rehearsal on Friday morning did not work for grade 9’s due to breakfast program commitments.
Students interested in participating in the grade 9 provincial honour band will receive information about the program on Thursday at early morning band.
Thank you for all of the sales so far. We are now up to 334 jars sold online and a few paper order forms have also been submitted.
Here is the online sales breakdown by grade level:
Grade 7 (55 students): 18 participants
Grade 8 (63 students): 16 participants
Grade 9 (43 students): 13 participants
We are going to keep the online store open for two more days.
It would be great to see a few more students in each class make a contribution to extra-curricular fundraising before we close the store! Thank you 🙂

All band students who have Recipes in Jars paper orders should bring them to Mrs. Peters in the band area on Monday morning. Tuesday will be our count day.
This week’s early morning band rehearsal schedule is as follows:
Tuesday: Grade 7 early am band
Wednesday: Grade 8 early am band is CANCELED
Thursday: Grade 9 early am band, Jazz Band at 12:30 (this week only)
Please visit the blog homepage (November 12th post) for updated information about our fall fundraising campaign. There is still time to sell a few more jars before the campaign ends 🙂

Congratulations to the grade 9 band students on their excellent performance at the school Remembrance Day assembly today. The Grade 9 band will also perform during the Remembrance Day Service tomorrow (Friday, November 11th) in Crapaud. Students received a program for the service today, and they are asked to arrive at the cenotaph by 10:15 a.m. in uniform. The cenotaph is located at the intersection of Route 13 and the Old Mill Road. Student are remionded to please dress for the weather as this is an outdoor service.
If you have time following the service to help unload music stands and percussion equipment back at East Wiltshire a few extra hands would be welcome.
Thank you so much for your support…it’s been a busy week!

Congratulations to all of the wonderful band students who performed at the family of schools concert last night. It was amazing! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the band programs in our schools…to say that it was a full house is an understatement! This was such a great way to showcase our bands early in the school year and I am so grateful that the power stayed on at Bluefield!
Next week I will be filling the band binders with Christmas music! Get ready to listen to some new tunes at home, and please mark Wednesday, December 7th on your calendars 🎶
I just learned that Bluefield students are collecting food for the food bank. If you would like to contribute a food item (or make a cash donation) at the concert tomorrow evening please feel free to do so.
The grade 8 band had two rehearsals today and they are sounding great!
Grade 7 early morning band is canceled for tomorrow because of the evening concert.
There will be a grade 7 full band rehearsal, and a grade 9 full band rehearsal tomorrow during class time.
All grade 7 and grade 9 band students should bring instruments and music to school tomorrow.
Grade 7 white long t-shirts arrived today and will be distributed tomorrow during period 1. Grade 7’s will wear their uniforms for the concert tomorrow night and they seem to be pretty happy about that!
I’m looking forward to seeing you all at Bluefield tomorrow night!
