Thank you

Thank you so much to all of the parents and guardians who supported students in the band program this year. It was another challenging school year, but I believe the students still made excellent progress and hopefully they enjoyed making music together through all of the ups and downs! I’m really looking forward to next year and a return to a regular band experience which will include more concerts, field trips, and provincial events.

Thanks to your generosity at the concert, we were able to make a $600 donation to the IWK foundation from the East Wiltshire bands. Thank you to Synthia MacEachern and Susan Morse for collecting the donations at the door on concert night.

If your child has registered for band camp this summer, please check this blog and the band camp website for information. All students who are switching to new instruments in the fall (saxophone, percussion, etc.) were asked to attend the beginner camp unless other arrangements have been made. I have 40 intermediate and senior students registered for the camp so they will find lots of their friends there!

The band camp registration link for EWS students can be found here. Late registrations will be accepted until tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.

EWS Band Camp Registration Form: https://forms.gle/vQq2Bbqv1kv3BUHE8

Beginner Camp: Monday-Friday, 9:00 – 11:30 am
Intermediate/Senior Camp: Monday-Friday, 9:00 – 3:00 pm

The fee for the camp is $100.00. E-transfers are preferred (eastwiltshire@edu.pe.ca). Please include student’s NAME and REASON for payment (BAND CAMP). If paying by cheque, please make payable to East Wiltshire Intermediate. Cash and cheques must be delivered to the main office at East Wiltshire where receipts can be issued upon request. This fee MUST accompany the registration form in order for the student to be officially registered.

Have a wonderful summer, everyone!

Congratulations

Congratulations to Amy Morse and Steven Dennis who were the recipients of the 2022 achievement awards for band at yesterday’s awards assembly. The awards were presented “In recognition of outstanding achievement in the East Wiltshire Concert and Jazz Bands”

Both of these grade 9 students are dedicated band members who have been key players in the EWS Concert Band and the Jazz Ensemble!
