Due to repairs that had to made to the basketball nets in the gym this morning, grade 9 rehearsals were moved to the band room and I ran two 25 minute sectionals instead of a full band practice.

Because of this change, we will have a full grade 9 early morning band practice in the gym next Thursday, February 18th. The grade 9 brass sectional scheduled for Friday, February 19th is cancelled.

Band uniforms were passed out to all students before Christmas, but we were missing a few sizes. Orders are being placed on Monday for white band shirts and vests for those who need them. Hi everyone and happy storm day!

Grade 7 Early AM Brass rehearsal is canceled for tomorrow.

All grade 7’s will have an early am band practice in the gym next Tuesday, February 16th.

A sign up sheet for grade 8 students to express interest in auditioning for percussion has been posted in the grade 8 Google Classrooms. Please add your name if you are interested.

Due to the storm day on Tuesday, there will be an early morning band rehearsal for all grade 7 band classes on Friday, February 5th in the gym.

We are turning another calendar page this weekend and I have created a rehearsal schedule for the month of February. All rehearsals are early morning rehearsals unless otherwise indicated on the calendar.

We are off to a very positive start in the EWS band program, and we are already planning for our next virtual concert which will have a TV and Movie Music theme!

Please find below the early am band rehearsal schedule for next week. Students are asked to be in the band room by 7:45 a.m. on early morning band days. The school doors will be opened by the custodian at 7:30 a.m. Now that winter weather has arrived, please review the band policy for storm closures, cancellations and delays (see tabs at the top of the page).

Tuesday, January 12th: 7B Early AM Band

Wednesday, January 13th: Grade 9 Brass Early AM Band

Thursday, January 14th: Grade 9 Woodwinds and Percussion Early AM Band

The band room will be open on Monday and Thursday from 12:10-12:45 pm this week for students who wish to practice or record playing assignments. Extra help is available from 3:15-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
