Thank you to everyone who helped with the fundraising order distribution today. The remaining 25 Anneβs Chocolates orders can be picked up tomorrow after school (by students or parents) between 3:00 and 4:30. We canβt store the orders in the changing room (this was the only locked area available) after tomorrow as the room will be in use.
Thank you to the volunteers who sorted the chocolate orders yesterday afternoon!
The orders are all sorted and labeled by seller, and they will be available for parents to pick up this afternoon from 3:30-5:30 pm in the cafeteria. A copy of the online orders is attached so that sellers know which items were ordered by each of their customers.
Students who are taking orders home on the bus will be asked to wait until tomorrow (Thursday, November 8th) to pick up their orders. It will be faster for students who are catching buses to pick up at their orders tomorrow, once the majority of orders are picked up and taken away this afternoon.
Wednesday, November 8: Grade 8 am band and Jazz Band after school (3:15-4:15)
Thursday, November 9: Grade 9 am band
Friday, November 10: Extra early am band rehearsal for Grade 9 band to prepare for Remembrance Day performances. Grade 9 band students will need to wear uniforms for the assembly.
The Anne’s Chocolates orders are scheduled to arrive at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7th. Orders will be unpacked and sorted on Tuesday afternoon.
The orders will be distributed to sellers on Wednesday, November 8th. Students with smaller orders can pick them up at lunch, or they can pick them up at the end of the school day to transport home (students may wish to bring a reusable bag). For students with larger orders, we will be set up in the lobby or cafeteria and parents can come in to collect them after school (3:15 β 5:30).Β
If you are able to volunteer some time to help with the distribution of orders that would be very helpful! Volunteers will be needed on Tuesday afternoon to sort orders, and on Wednesday afternoon to help with the distribution of orders. Please sign up on the form below if you are able to help. Students may sign up to help during the Wednesday after school slots. Thank you!
The EWS Grade 9 Band has been asked to perform on Saturday, November 11th for the Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day ceremony which is being held this year at the Clyde River Cenotaph, located at 718 Clyde River Road. Having our young people perform at this service is a longstanding tradition in our community.
Details about what time band students will be asked to arrive at the cenotaph will be provided soon, and parent and student volunteers may be needed to help with moving band equipment to and from East Wiltshire. If your child is going to be away on that date and is unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible.
The grade 9 band will also perform at the school Remembrance Day assembly on Friday, November 10th during period 1. Band uniforms, including black pants, long sleeved white t-shirts, and band vests will be required for both performances.
Another weird week for band rehearsals! I apologize for the changes.
Tuesday, October 31st (Happy Halloween): Grade 7 early am band
Wednesday, November 1st: The Grade 8’s have asked me to reschedule our rehearsal due to the spooky festivities on Tuesday evening! Stay tuned…I hope to reschedule to a class period this week but haven’t been able to finalize the new time.
Jazz band is postponed on Wednesday due to the grade 9 Take Our Kids to Work day. It will be held on Thursday from 3:15-4:15 for those who can attend.
Thursday, November 2nd: Grade 9 early am band and Jazz Band after school
*The Anne’s Chocolates delivery is going to be delayed until early next week due to a conflict with my schedule. Details and a call for volunteers will be added in a separate blog post.
Band fees ($40) can now be paid by cash, cheque, or online through SchoolCash. Band fees are used to pay for instrument supplies, maintenance, and repairs, as well as band uniforms. All band fees are due by the end of November, and payments can also be made in the band area during parent-teacher interviews.
