Due to family commitments, I can only do one extra-curricular rehearsal this week. We will get back to the regular schedule next week. Thank you!

Wednesday, October 30th: 7:45 a.m. Grade 8 early morning band

Thursday, October 31st: 7:45 a.m. Grade 9 early morning band is canceled

Thursday, October 31st : 3:00-4:00 p.m. Jazz Band is canceled (Happy Halloween)

Anne of Green Gables Chocolates (Just in time for the weekend!)

Our fall sales campaign is ready to launch and we are excited to partner with Anne of Green Gables Chocolates in presenting a fundraiser to support the East Wiltshire School band program.

Our campaign launches today (October 25th), and ends on November 14th, 2024. The campaign is paperless again this year, and 100% of the orders will be made online through an easy to use, secure platform. Orders will be delivered on November 21st and will be sent home with sellers to distribute to their supporters.

Rehearsals this week

Tuesday, October 22nd7:45 a.m.  Grade 7 early morning band 

Wednesday, October 23rd: 7:45 a.m. Grade 8 early morning band

*Workshops with guest conductor Rob Macleod will be held during periods 2 and 3 with the grade 8 and grade 9 bands. I will provide a schedule to students on Monday.

Thursday, October 24th: 7:45 a.m. Grade 9 early morning band

Thursday, October 24th : 3:00-4:00 p.m. Jazz Band

Upcoming Event

I’m very pleased to announce that 10 East Wiltshire band members will be participating in this regional Honour Band on Saturday. Congratulations to the following students: Vera Clement, Austin Dunn, Norah McGeoughegan, Isaac Morse, Lucy MacArthur, Anna Cannon, Blythe O’Malley, Ivy Gorman, Landon Seaman, and Norah MacKinnon. I know that all of these students will be excellent representatives of our school and our province!

*Students are asked to be in the band room ready to play by 7:45 a.m. School doors are open by 7:30 a.m.

Band Fees

Just a friendly reminder that band fees are being accepted, and can be paid online (preferred) or through cash or cheque in the office. Thank you to everyone who has already paid. We have already purchased a set of headphones to support the online music theory program, as well as three band suppy orders (reeds, valve oil, cleaning cloths, mallets, etc.) this fall using band fees. Thank you!

EWS JAZZ ENSEMBLE

Jazz Band rehearsals will begin on Thursday, October 17th.

Jazz Band rehearsals will run from 3:00-4:00 pm.  Extra or extended rehearsals may be held from time to time in order to prepare for concerts.

Students: Please complete the form in Google Classroom by Friday, October 11th if you are interested in being a member of the 2024-25 Jazz Ensemble!
