P.S. Please encourage students to practice at home this week. Each grade level has a playing test due in January or early February. Due dates and details are posted in Google Classroom and marks are being added in PowerSchool as tests are completed. The students also have new band pieces in their folders. Practice makes progress!

Tuesday, January 28th: 7:45 a.m.  Grade 7 early morning band

Wednesday, January 29th: 7:45 a.m. Grade 8 early morning band 

Thursday, January 30th: 7:45 a.m. Grade 9 early morning band

Thursday, January 30th: 3:00-4:00 p.m. Jazz Band

*Honour Band rehearsal TBA

*Honour Band: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. (Please be prepared to play through the remaining pieces)

Thursday, January 23rd: 7:45 a.m. Grade 9 early morning band (you will be dismissed a bit early so please plan to arrive in the band area ready to play at 7:45 am)

*Honour Band students will leave for Birchwood by taxi for the sectional rehearsal day following early am band practice. Please note that a delay or cancelation in any part of the province will cause the Honour Band day to be canceled and it will have to be rescheduled. I will send an email to the students and parents involved with more details about the day.

Jazz band is canceled for this week.

Hi everyone,

I picked up a load of instruments in Kensington on Friday that were out for maintenance or repairs. Students can pick these up and return their spares during band classes this week.

I hope that everyone has enjoyed a happy holiday with friends and family.The students will be getting back into their routines next week and I will be handing out some new music for the new year. Early morning band will be canceled from January 7th-9th, and will resume the following week (January 14-16). There will be a grade 9 Honour Band rehearsal on Thursday afternoon, and students are asked to please practice their own parts before we meet as a group.
