Summer Band Camp registration is now open for current EWS grade 7 (Intermediate), and grade 8 and 9 band (Senior) band students.

It’s been a great year for the EWS band program! I’m looking forward to seeing all of the band students at our last three early morning rehearsals as we make the final musical preparations for the concert on Wednesday evening.

The concert should be approximately an hour long, and it will be a celebration of all the hard work your children have put in during this school year. I have asked the students to make attendance at this important school event their priority on Wednesday night. I am really looking forward to it, and we even have a few surprises planned 😊

Admission to this concert is by donation. All funds will be used to support the band program.

Rehearsal schedule:

Monday, May 27th: Grade 9 early am band

Tuesday, May 28th: Grade 7 early am band 

Wednesday, May 29th: Grade 8 early am band

The Jazz Band will rehearse during the school day on Tuesday. Time to be announced.

Interested in band at East Wiltshire? We are now accepting applications from grade 6 students for the 2024-2025 school year. If you are interested in applying for our grade 7 band program, please complete the application form by Tuesday, May 21st. Printed copies are also available, and can be picked up in the main office at East Wiltshire.

Tuesday, May 14th: Grade 7 early am band is canceled. Grade 7’s had two early morning practices, and performed in two concerts last week. Enjoy your morning off!

Congratulations to Douglas Lyu on being selected to participate in the National MusicFest Canada Soho Sound Canadian Junior Honour Band performance. Douglas sent an audition recording, and was chosen to rehearse virtually and perform in the ensemble recording which was released on Music Monday. Thank you for representing our school and province, Douglas!

The grade 9’s will have early am band practice tomorrow.

The band students will be performing for grade 6 students from Eliot River, Central Queens, and Englewood tomorrow morning in the East Wiltshire gym. All band students will need to come prepared with instruments, music, and uniforms.
