Thursday, April 11th: PEI Band Day at UPEI. Grade 8 and 9 bands participate. 

April 17th-18th (Wednesday and Thursday): Grade 9 Band trip to perform in music festivals in NS and NB

Wednesday, April 24th: National Youth Band of Canada concert at Bluefield. Selected grade level (TBA) will attend performance.

Thursday, May 9th:  Beginning Band Day at Athena Consolidated in Summerside. Grade 7 band will participate. 

To be scheduled:  Grade 8 Field Trip, Spring Concert, Grade 6 Band Orientation Concert

Tuesday, February 27: Grade 7 am band is canceled (rescheduled to Friday)

Wednesday, February 28: Grade 8 early am band, Jazz Band after school from 3:00-4:00 pm

Thursday, February 29: Grade 9 early am band

Friday, March 1: Grade 7 early am band

Grade 7, 8 and 9 early morning band practices are CANCELED from February 19-23.

Jazz Band rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, February 21st from 3:00-4:00 pm.

The grade 9 band trip is being planned for Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18. We will be travelling to Sackville and Moncton, NB and New Glasgow, NS to perform in music festivals. More details will be provided soon!

Grade 7, 8 and 9 early morning band practices are CANCELED from February 12-16 and from February 19-23.

Sorry folks! I made a mistake…jazz rehearsals for the next two weeks will be held from 3:00-4:00. The times have also been corrected on the original post. Have a good Monday!

I hope everyone has had a good weekend. I have already announced this to most of my band classes, but we are taking a two week break from early morning band practices.

Grade 7, 8 and 9 early morning band practices are CANCELED from February 12-16 and from February 19-23. Students are encouraged to practice their band music and their scale assignments during this time:

Grade 7: Bb concert full 8 note scale, pg. 20 Sawmill Creek, Jurassic Park and Aztec Sunrise

Grade 8: F concert scale, 9 stroke rolls, Celtic Air and Dance and A Starlit Night

Grade 9: F concert scale and arpeggio, 9 stroke rolls, New Forest March and Bazaar

Please note: Jazz Band is not canceled during this time and will be held on Wednesday, February 14 from 3:00-4:00 and on Wednesday, February 21st from 3:00-4:00

P.S. Tomorrow is Day 6 (yesterday was Day 5 in the west so we have to skip it)

In order to give everyone lots of time to dig out from under this pile of snow, grade 7 early morning band for tomorrow is canceled.

Friday, Feb. 9th: PEI Provincial Honour Band rehearsals begin at 5:15 p.m. at UPEI

Based on updated advice from the transportation director for the PSB, the Honour Band weekend which was scheduled to begin this evening has been cancelled. The snowfall amounts in the latest forecast will now make the weekend impossible for those travelling longer distances.

We will reschedule to our storm dates (February 9-11).

We are all very excited about this weekend!  As we move through the scheduled activities and events this weekend, please remember that the final decision as to whether or not to travel in winter conditions always rests with parents/guardians. If you are travelling and the roads are tricky, please take your time and arrive safely!
