December 12, 2019

A huge congratulations and thank you is extended to all of the students who participated in the Christmas concert on Tuesday evening. It was a wonderful evening of music, and a great demonstration of the talent and dedication of our music students.

A special thank you to the students who did MC duties during the concert. You did a great job!

Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, we were also able to donate funds to help support families in our community during the Christmas season.

All extra-curricular band activities (with the exception of grade 9 Honours Band) are now finished until after the Christmas break.

*Due to a conflict in the morning for students who volunteer with the breakfast program, tomorrow’s grade 9 Honours Band rehearsal will be held during the lunch break.

December 10th

Band students who have home instruments are reminded to take those instruments to school for the concert (the same plan as for the Bluefield concert).

Following the concert tonight, we will not have any extra-curricular early morning band rehearsals (with the exception of Honours Band) until after the Christmas break.

Thank you for all of your hard work this fall, and good luck tonight!

The annual East Wiltshire Christmas concert will be held on Tuesday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the East Wiltshire gymnasium. This concert will feature the EWS Grade 7, 8, and 9 concert bands, as well as the EWS Jazz Ensemble.

Band students are asked to arrive at school in uniform by 6:30 p.m. Detailed information about the EWS band uniform can be found here on the blog (see menu above).  Students who wish to wear a Santa hat for this performance are encouraged to do so!

Upon arrival, grade 7 and 8 students will meet in the cafeteria extension until it is their turn to move to the gym for their warm-up. Grade 9’s will gather in the band room.

Admission is by voluntary donation at the door. Proceeds will be used to support families in the East Wiltshire community who are in need of some extra help during the holiday season, and to support band students who need assistance with the cost of extra-curricular band activities throughout the year.

The students have been working hard to prepare this holiday program and we look forward to seeing you at the concert on the 10th!
